THE NEW ALBUM OF OLGA PERETYATKO IS DEDICATED TO HER FIRST-BORN DAUGHTER MAYA AND IS A TRIBUTE TO HUMANITY
Songs for Maya is a true labor of love, born out of Olga’s desire to share the joy of motherhood and help her fans restore the sense of emotional well-being in challenging times by focusing on timeless and universal human values of nurturing love, beauty, tenderness, and acceptance.
The most extraordinary composition of the album is the original track Mantra, created by Olga Peretyatko and pianist Semjon Skigin, and sung in 16 different languages. It is inspired by the tradition as old and universal as humanity itself: lullabies are almost magical incantations meant to soothe and nurture new life through a simple and powerful expression of unconditional love.
The album is filled with this love and addressed to the children around and within us.
All 23 compositions, personally selected by Olga, belong to the genre of lullabies, although they include music by classical composers from Mozart and Brahms to Tchaikovsky and Wagner, as well as such superhits as Gershwin's Summertime, and even ethnic lullaby chants from different corners of our planet.
